Isabelita started her career in the Philippines as an economist, and then was chosen to be the first ASEAN representative to the ASEAN-Japan Centre, an intergovernmental, regional organization headquartered in Tokyo, a position she held for three terms (9 years).

Isabelita founded and manages a successful business, Speed Money Transfer Japan, in a highly competitive sector. Her business not only serves but is also a fully Filipino migrant worker owned company. In only a little over 2 years (2 years and 3 months to be exact), Isabelita’s company, Speed Money Transfer Japan K.K. has expanded to a total of 4 branch networks in Japan. From an initial of only 2 employees , she now has 24.
From only a total of 119 number of transactions with a total volume (amount) of JPY 12.87 (US$128,700 @USD 1= JPY 100) million during its first month of business in May 2011, the number have increased to almost 11,000 items or a 9,143% increase for this month, August 2013. As to volume, August 2013’s total volume will amount to almost JPY 700 million (US$7,000,000), or a 5,340% increase.
